CHARLIE BENANTE shares photos of his PANTERA drum kit

ANTHRAXit is Charlie Benante shared some pictures of the drum kit he uses for the PANTHER return shows. He is joined in PANTHERreformed membership by surviving members Brown Rex (low) and Philippe Anselme (vocals) alongside the guitarist Zak Wylde (OZZY OSBOURNE, THE BLACK BRAND SOCIETY).

Tuesday (December 13),Charly posted the photos on his social media and he included the following message: “Drum post – a lot of people asked about the kit for this tour and here it is – it’s an @officialtamadrums kit. The tom gong and from the floor tom are Star maple shells and kicks are star bubinga – snare drums are my signature snare and a starclassic G maple. Cymbals are @paistecymbals and as you can see a mix of Rudes and from 2002. The sticks are my signature @vicfirth , the heads are @evansdrumheads, @rolandglobal provided the td50x module with their @porter_and_davies thumper triggers and that sums it all up.

“I’m so grateful to the people who help make this all possible. I couldn’t do it without the love and support. I’ve been supported by these companies for decades now, I appreciate what they’re doing. and how they do it.

“See you all at the next shows”.

Charly previously discussed his battery setup for the PANTHER shows in an interview earlier in the month with SiriusXMit is “Trunk Nation with Eddie Trunk”. He said: “It’s a totally different setup [to what I play with ANTHRAX]. I play more like Vinnieit is [Paul Abbott, late PANTERA drummer] kit, the way Vinnie the cheek. I wanted to play a kit like that because it gave me a bit more challenge. And I can’t add more drums, because I just wanted to have the two toms in the front – floor toms – so I’m totally sticking to the way he had it, and I want to play it just like he did that and it sounds exactly like he did too. So that’s how I approach it.”

As stated earlier, PANTHER played Monday, December 12 at Movistar Arena in Santiago, Chile and Sunday, December 11 at Knotfest Chile in Santiago without Brown. Substitute for him were LIVESTOCK DECAPITATION bass player Derek Engemanwho also plays with PANTHER singer Philippe Anselme at a time PHILIP H. ANSELMO AND THE ILLEGALS and BROWSEand Bobby Landgrafwho previously played with Anselm in DOWN.

Earlier Monday, Brown issued the following statement via PANTHER‘s social media: “I caught a very mild strain of Covid but due to our own protocols I just don’t want to risk making my brothers or the crew sick!! I’m feeling better and am on the way to a quick recovery. Merry Fckn Christmas and see you next year!”

Sunday, Chilean radio Coming reported that Brown flew from Bogotá, Colombia, where PANTHER performed at Knotfest Colombia on Friday, December 9, back in the United States for quarantine, thus missing the rest of the PANTHER shows in South America.

PANTHER is next to play two shows in São Paulo, Brazil – on Thursday December with JUDAS PRIEST and Sunday, December 18 at Knotfest Brazil.

New PANTHER lineup made their live debut on December 2 in Mexico Hell & Heaven Metal Festival and also performed on December 6 at Monterrey Metal Festival in Monterrey, Mexico.

It was first reported in July that Anselm and Brown would unite with wyld and blessing for a world tour under the PANTHER banner.

The band will headline a number of major festivals in North America and Europe and hold some of their own headline concerts. They will also support METALLIC on a massive North American stadium tour in 2023 and 2024.

According Billboardthe formation received the green light from the estates of the group’s founders, Vincent “Vinnie Paul” Abbott and guitarist “Dimebag” Darrell Abbottas well as Brown, who said last year wyld wouldn’t run with PANTHER if a meeting should take place. We don’t know what changed his mind.
