A lawsuit accusing musician Marilyn Manson of “child and adult sexual abuse, sexual assault, assault and indecent assault” was filed Monday in New York.
Two of Manson’s former labels, Interscope Records and Nothing Records – an Interscope label that no longer exists – are also named as defendants in the lawsuit, filed in Nassau County, and accused of “protecting, promoting and profiting from” his alleged conduct.
The lawsuit, filed on behalf of a Jane Doe, alleges that Manson, whose real name is Brian Warner, sexually assaulted her on his tour bus after an all-ages concert in 1995, when she was 16. He also alleges that Manson threatened to kill her and her family if she told anyone.
Manson groomed the plaintiff, according to the lawsuit, encouraging her to send explicit photos of herself and her friends. He also alleges that he insisted that she attend one of his concerts in 1995 in New Orleans, where he also allegedly assaulted her.
The sexual assault continued when the plaintiff was 19 and moved to Los Angeles to date a member of another band, which had a close association with Manson, according to the suit. The complainant began using drugs and alcohol to self-medicate due to the previous assaults, and Manson “deliberately and intentionally laid the groundwork to bully and control her” when she was a child and still was. able to make it beyond that, according to the lawsuit. .
The plaintiff attended a Manson tour in 1999, during which he groomed and sexually assaulted her throughout, according to the lawsuit. Manson “often coerced the plaintiff into having sex with him and other band members or his assistant at the same time” and supplied him with drugs, according to the lawsuit.
Howard King, a lawyer for Manson, called the lawsuit allegations “vicious lies” and said his client “will not submit to this shakedown”.
“Brian Warner does not know this person and has no recollection of meeting her 28 years ago. He was certainly never intimate with her,” King said in a statement. “She’s been selling her fabricated story to tabloids and podcasts for over two years.”
Lawyers for the plaintiff claim that Manson, his band and his promoters provided children with posters containing symbols ‘relating to violence, sexual assault and Satan’, with a flyer including the words ‘I am a pedophile’s dream’ .
“For too long, music industry predators have hidden in plain sight, believing they are above the law,” said plaintiff attorney Jeff Anderson. “Today we are calling on Warner to face retaliation so he knows he will not escape his day in court again. This is a judgment day.
The lawsuit also accuses Interscope and Nothing Records of negligence, saying they “knew or should have known that defendant Warner habitually and regularly engaged in sexual misconduct with young adults and minor children throughout the country.”
Interscope Records did not immediately respond to requests for comment. Nothing Records was a label created by musician Trent Reznor through Interscope Records.
“Sexual predators in the music industry do not act alone,” said Karen Barth Menzies, attorney for the plaintiff. “For there to be meaningful change in the music industry, we need to do more than just hold predators accountable. , facilitate, and we must force them to take responsibility for allowing and profiting from outrageous criminal behavior.

In 2021, Evan Rachel Wood, Manson’s former girlfriend, has accused him of grooming her as a teenager and abusing her for years. Manson has not been charged with any crime related to Wood’s allegations. He filed a libel suit against Wood last year.
