The games listed here are very good and right now they are also the cheapest PS5 games on the market.
The games listed below are PlayStation exclusive video games. Besides Horizon Forbidden West, these are also PS5-exclusive titles, meaning they’ve been designed from the ground up to take advantage of the graphics power of the PS5, with no concessions to make it backwards compatible with older consoles. .
Forbidden Horizon West
IGN Editor’s Choice 9/10
A triumphant combination of thrilling combat, high-level creature and character design, and a captivating open world, Horizon Forbidden West is an absolute blast and fantastic showcase for the power of the PS5. While the return of some familiar series trappings and a noticeable lack of free-form climbing never threaten to derail the fun, it does frustratingly let it fall short of something groundbreaking. However, major evolutionary steps have been firmly placed in the right direction, and there is no doubt that the many hours of fun to be had with Aloy, who further claims her claim to be one of the greatest characters in this game generation. Guerrillas have once again outdone themselves with Forbidden West, and on this trajectory, neither the horizon nor the sky is the limit for what might come next.
Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart
IGN Editor’s Choice 9/10
Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart is a stunner. This not only gives the latest generation of consoles a game that looks as good as the improved technology promised, but it’s also a fantastic experience to play. Insomniac has been around the Ratchet and Clank block many times before, but Rivet and other new characters add so much charm, wit, and heart to a franchise I’ve loved for most of my life. This is paired with the best action platformer gameplay in the series and amazing art and sound design across the board. Rift Apart might not be the greatest adventure around, but its big heart, wild weapons, and incredible detail easily make it one of the most memorable of the year so far.
Demon’s Souls
IGN Editor’s Choice 9/10
The team at Bluepoint had the unenviable task of remaking an 11-year-old game with a cult following and making it look – and play – the role of being the very first game developed from the ground up for this current generation of consoles. And that’s exactly what they did. Demon’s Souls is breathtakingly beautiful and plays much better than on the PS3, not only thanks to the graphics power of the PlayStation 5, but also because of the clever quality of life changes and light touches that modernize some frustrating aspects of the original, without ever sacrificing the relentless challenge, puzzle-infused boss fights, and style that made it such a historic game in the first place.
Return
IGN 8/10
Returnal’s instant gameplay is sublime, with a great selection of weapons that each have a wide variety of interesting possible traits, meaningful strategic decisions that can either keep a race afloat or doom it to sink, and a punishing but challenging challenge. rewarding shooting game that is always exhilarating. Even with all that focus on the action, it never drops the ball on the story. Its big problem is that it lasts too long and there is no way to save progress apart from putting the PS5 into rest mode. It saps the desire to immediately come back and try again after failure, but not enough to stop it. Even so, Returnal is an incredible roguelike and one of Housemarque’s best games to date.
