Spatial launches VR toolkit for creators powered by Unity

Immersive 3D social metaverse developer Spatial today launched a creator toolkit that will allow its users to create their own virtual worlds, connect with other users, and share immersive experiences powered by the graphics engine. Unity.

The Spatial Creator Toolkit provides everything creatives need to create virtual reality experiences and what is known as the metaverse, an interconnected space of virtual worlds that people can socialize, interact with and play together in environments immersive.

Using Unity’s SDK, Spatial will be able to deliver a dramatically increased level of visual quality directly through the web browser, allowing a wider audience to access Spatial’s metaverse. Unity provides game-level development capabilities and professional rendering quality for scenes, which in turn improves everything related to spatial experiences.

“Making immersive platforms easy and accessible for anyone to jump in and start building, without prior digital design knowledge, has always been a big factor in making Spatial the inclusive and open metaverse it is today” , said Jinha Lee, co-founder and chief product officer of Spatial. “This toolkit will open doors for creators to create out-of-the-ordinary and exciting places with just a few clicks.”

The gaming industry is often at the forefront of creating visually stunning 3D experiences and photorealistic graphics, and the Unity game graphics engine is no exception. Existing Spatial partners are already using the new toolkit in their metaverse worlds to improve their experiences. Among them, Exclusible Yacht from Polycount and Bubble Park from DaeWha Kang. Luxx Studiosa metaverse studio comprised of award-winning Disney Imagineer Web3 designers, has also build an experience using the new tool.

To allow users to create the best metaverse worlds possible, Spatial recently announced a integration with Sketchfab, a library of virtual reality 3D models. With access to a wide variety of 3D models and objects through Sketchfab, users of Spatial’s new creator toolkit will be able to create highly customizable worlds for visitors to socialize with, from concert halls to professional views casual, natural or even in outer space.

With the Creator Toolkit, creators will also enable previously unavailable interactivity with immersive environments between user avatars and experiences. For example, with the Unity engine, added objects will allow creators to add interactive objects such as soccer balls that can be kicked or cars to drive through metaverse worlds, opening up new opportunities for virtual experiences.

“Creating professional-grade lighting would previously have taken a skilled designer at least two days, and now anyone can do it with the click of a button,” said Anand Agarawala, co-founder and CEO of Spatial, about the creator. Toolbox. “It publishes to web, mobile, and VR simultaneously to make building so seamless that literally anyone can be a top-notch digital developer.”

This year, Spatial added a variety of new features to its metaverse worlds for users, including room chat, social profiles, photo and video functions, as well as avatar dances and emotes. The company also has in partnership with Ready Player Me to bring customizable full-body avatars to the platform, which allowed Spatial to sell metaverse apparel and other merchandise from Tommy Hilfiger, Vogue, L’Oreal, Maybelline and other brands.

Since moving from an enterprise VR platform for collaboration to a social metaverse platform one year ago, Spatial has grown to over 500,000 registered creators whose work has been viewed by over 2 million users. And those users logged more than 127 million hours on the platform viewing creations and socializing in Spatial’s metaverse over the past 12 months.
