The 2022 World Cup is coming to an end, which means the return of European club football is just days away. But when does each league resume and how many break days has it enjoyed? Here, we run through each league’s return.
– When does the transfer window open and close next month?
Four nations – Argentina, Croatia, France and Morocco – will go through to the weekend in third-place playoffs or the final, playing a total of seven matches.

However, Premier League clubs will return to action even sooner, with the Carabao Cup fourth round starting on December 20 – just two days after the World Cup final – including Manchester City against Liverpool on December 22.
